HOLY DAY & HOLIDAY MASS TIMES - BASILICA
Sacred Paschal Triduum Schedule
Holy Week is the most solemn and glorious week in Christianity and the pinnacle of the liturgical year. It begins with Palm Sunday (when Jesus made his final entrance into Jerusalem) and culminates with Easter Sunday. As Holy Week progresses to its final days, the solemnity heightens. The Sacred Paschal Triduum, though spanning over the course of three days, is one liturgical celebration.

Holy Thursday
Mass of the Lords Supper– 7:00pm
We remember the institution of the Eucharist and the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass at the Last Supper, as well as the institution of the priesthood, which took place the evening before Jesus was crucified.
Night Watch– 8:30pm-11:00pm
We remember Jesus' request in the Garden of Gethsemane for someone to "watch and pray" with Him. You may join for a portion or the whole evening.
Compline– 10:45pm-11:00pm
Good Friday
Stations of the Cross– 12:00pm
Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion– 2:00pm
We remember the day Jesus died for the sins of the world.
The liturgy on Good Friday is not a Mass— it is a liturgy with the reading of the Lord’s Passion, adoration and veneration of the Holy Cross, and distribution of Holy Communion consecrated on Holy Thursday. Good Friday is the only day of the year on which no Masses are offered.
Good Friday is a mandatory day of fasting and abstinence.
Holy Saturday
Blessing of the Easter Food– 12:00pm-1:00pm, Basilica Center Gym
On this day, Christ is in the tomb. Jesus descended to the realm of the dead on Holy Saturday to save the righteous souls who died before his crucifixion. There is no daytime Mass on Holy Saturday. This remains a day of fasting before the Easter Vigil Begins.
Easter Vigil
Vigil Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection– 9:00pm
The vigil Mass is held after nightfall on Holy Saturday, or before dawn on Easter Sunday, in celebration of the Resurrection of Jesus. The Easter Vigil is the most glorious and beautiful liturgy of the Church.
This is also the Mass in which our RCIA Catechumens and Candidates will be brought into full communion with the Catholic Church. Please pray for them!
Easter Sunday
Mass to celebrate the Solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection will be held at 9:00am and 11:00am.
