The family is the primary community in which faith, love, and Christian values are shared and nurtured.  Our Basilica Parish stands as a partner to assist you as parents, a child’s primary educator, in the physical, psychological, moral, social, and spiritual development of each child.  Our Basilica Religious Education Program is a home-based program.  We provide you with the materials to use, following the Diocesan approved curriculum and recommended textbooks.  Lessons are covered in the home.  Students gather approximately once a month as a group (Sunday following the 10:30 A.M. Liturgy)   This whole group gathering focuses on the seasons of the Church’s Liturgical calendar, along with Bible stories and scripture.

As we seek to form disciples of Jesus, the Religious Education program at the Basilica of St. Adalbert promotes knowledge of the faith, liturgy and the sacraments.  Through prayer and catechesis we promote moral formation to prepare Christian young men and women to participate actively in the life and mission of the Church to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.

For more information, contact Margie Downer, Director of Religious Education at mdowner@basilicagr.org or at 616-458-3065 (ext. 44).
